Rupert is HR Director for Aviva UK. Aviva is the world’s sixth-largest insurance group and the largest insurance services provider in the UK with c. 17,000 FTE.

Rupert was born in London in 1967 and grew up in London and Aberdeen. His first job, in 1989, was with the Confederation of British Industry in its training policy directorate where he was head of remuneration policy and head of pay and employment markets.

Rupert joined the compensation and benefits practice of Arthur Andersen in 1995 and became a partner in 2001. He became partner at Deloitte a year later. In 2005 he joined Barclays as executive director within human resources and became HR director of the global and retail and commercial banking division in 2007.
