Martina is Chief Executive of The Prince’s Trust, the UK’s leading youth charity. The Trust works with more than 40,000 disadvantaged young people each year and sees more than 80 per cent go into training, employment, education and volunteering.

Martina is responsible for an annual income in excess of £50 million and for ensuring that the bulk of these funds, 84p in each pound goes to support Trust programmes.

Prior to joining The Trust, Martina was chief executive of BBC Children in Need raising millions of pounds each year to help children in the UK. She sat on the trading subsidiary Children in Need Ltd and was a member of the BBC's Corporate Social Responsibility Board.

Martina trained and began her career as a journalist, working for The Press Association and a range of national media. She then established the Press and Communications function for the Catholic Fund for Overseas Development (CAFOD), worked on specialised media events for Christian Aid and has edited a number of books on third world issues.

In 1993 Martina was appointed as Chief Executive of the Association of Spinal Injury Research, Rehabilitation and Reintegration (ASPIRE) - a service delivery charity - growing the staff from five to 100. In this role Martina was responsible for the development of Europe's first integrated arts, sports and rehabilitation centre.

Martina is Chair of the Fundraising Implementation Group, co-ordinating the fundraising between HRH The Prince of Wales’ charities. She is Co-Chair of the Government’s Youth Action Group and a Trustee of the Media Trust.
