Julie Mercer | Partner, Deloitte

Julie leads Deloitte’s UK education practice working across the two main government departments (DCSF and BIS), their Agencies, NDPBs and delivery agents to improve educational outcomes for children, young people, adults and offenders. Originally trained as an accountant at the National Audit Office, Julie has worked across the public and third sectors to implement policy and improve performance.
Julie is a member of the CBI education and children’s services committee, member of the World Economic Forum on entrepreneurship education and leads Deloitte’s platinum sponsorship of Teach First. Her experience includes large scale programme and project management and operations excellence with a focus on organisational performance and continuous improvement.
Deloitte have also developed their award winning Employability programme where FE students on a vocational course take part in a series of employability based modules, developed by Deloitte. The Deloitte employability Initiative is developing 800 specialist employability teachers to roll out this course and aims to reach 40,000 learners by 2012.
